#CassandraWilson died on 2nd of September 2026 at the age of 70.
For me as a #jazz enthusiast and a huge fan of this jazz musician, this is very big loss. I’ve been to several concerts of hers in Germany. She connected influences from jazz standards with folk, blues and also popular music to an amalgam which was absolutely unique with her low voice and bands with quite innovative instrumentation. She shaped this as her own style. The concerts were all very enjoyable.
