#CAMRA seem to be about to create confusion - their new strategy promotes "live beer", rather than "real ale". The two are the same thing, but their very name includes the words "Real Ale". I don't see how this rebranding helps consumers find real ale rather than "fresh beer"/"craft ale"/"nitrokeg". And then they also mention "cask beer". We need a single unifying term rather than three.

@c_dan4th #TIL that, in particular, millennials and Gen Z are "alcohol-fluid" meaning they move between low/no and alcoholic and like that #CaskAle tends to be lower in ABV, but highly drinkable even as it warms up so they can drink slower. No mention of Colorado in this article unfortunately

Speaking of beer, there's an article in the #CAMRA magazine about #CaskAle in the #USA name-checking Portland, Brooklyn, Georgia and Arizona. I'd love to hear how visible this is in real life to the discerning beer drinkers on the Fediverse

According to an email I got from #GrainstoreBrewery, it's Cask Ale Week from 18th September to 28th September. I couldn't actually see it on their website.

Maybe I should order some more Ten Fifty, which they've stopped comparing with #Ruddles County.

You ask for a beer from cask. Whilst pulling it, the bar staff realise there isn't enough for a full pint. There's only 1 cask, so they can't just put more on.

What happens next where you are? Is it on the house? Does it matter if it's two thirds, half, nearly a full pint? Does it make a difference being at a festival vs in a pub?
