I looked up NZ's road statistics so far for 2026. 17,635 road injuries resulting in ACC claims. 221 people dead. All just this year.
Instead we're fretting about e-scooters being dangerous and needing more regulation. (Perhaps they do, but they're not the elephant in the room here.)
