  1. @RagnarHeidar I think one of the coolest things about the new #CARRA reanalysis is that it's high enough resolution that the model also produces Von Karman vortices around Jan Mayen as an emergent property...

  2. 🌡️⛰️The Arctic is warming twice than the global average and even much more for the ocean regions.

Our #CARRA graphic shows that #Greenland area warming concentrates in the north.

  3. I think it's a really nice example of how you can combine very diverse datasets, which at first might not seem to have much to do with each other, to get a deep understanding of a key process. First, @agrinsted used a published database of crevasses based on a satellite DEM over the Arctic (#ArcticDEM), combined this with temperatures from the new very high resolution regional #Climate reanalysis (#CARRA), plus ice thickness data from #BedMachine + #IceVelocity data from many many #satellites

  8. Off to the delightful, shady fjord side campus of @AarhusUni near #Roskilde today. Always a pleasure and our student Mathias Larsen, who is presnting his mid term report has some awesome new work to talk about, using the @CopernicusECMWF #Arctic reanalysis to calculate #Greenland #IceSheet mass budget #SMB #CARRA
    Have a great morning everyone.

  9. RT @CopernicusECMWF: DYK that the #Arctic is getting wetter?
Thanks to #CARRA Arctic regional reanalysis, we see that there is more rainfall and less snow in the Arctic region (particularly over the oceans).

  10. To #HindsgavlSlot to meet with #Danish #ArcticScience community for first time in 3 years. Always fun to find out what our colleagues in terrestrial #ecosystems, #greenhouseGases etc are working in

After the #COVID19 pandemic, I'm pleased to see the focus is on #ECRs and giving them a chance to network and present.

I'm especially keen to talk #CARRA + #CARRA2 (#Copernicus #Arctic Regional ##Reanalysis) to any users, potential users or data providers out there...

  15. Jason Box is now talking about #PROMICE data in #CARRA (#Copernicus #Arctic Regional #Reanalysis) and using the latest insights for understanding the #Greenland #IceSheet

The trend shows increasing #precipitation but not #snow - it's falling as #rain...
