  1. Carol is on steam!

MDNA games is slowly re-releasing the Carol Reed series on Steam, with the first try out being “The Game Maker”. If you haven’t got it yet maybe get it from Steam when it’s released:

  2. The developer of #CarolReed forwarded a mail by a player today where she is criticizing the LGBTQIA+ themes in the recent games "even before the LGBTQ plague" started.

He said he didn't even notice it in the games and had no actual intent to even put it there, but is happy that it can apparently be found and will probably put even more in the next games now. 😂

    I'm happy I created #EgoVenture for this guy. 🥰

  4. After days preparing an exhibition application and inconveniences to uploading, I found solace in #TCM having pirate movies from the 30's and 50's while filling in the forms. Now I'm onto criminal penicillin distributors in postwar Vienna and their dime store pulp writer friends with zither soundtracks. Echoes of how we feel about capitalism's tether on healthcare.

  10. I've just heard that Thomas, a dear member of the #EgoVenture community and co-developer managed to convert even the first three #CarolReed games by #MDNAGames, which were based on an ancient version of AdventureMaker to the framework.

So you can look forward to have the complete series natively on every desktop device and - who knows - maybe on mobile as well at some point. All thanks to @godotengine #MadeWithGodot

  11. The other great Carol Reed-Graham Greene collaboration, a year before The Third Man, was The Fallen Idol (1948). A story of growing up, of trust, of lies and of secrets. Lies and secrets can be well-intentioned but have bad results. Great film.

  16. The main problem with Carol Reed's NIGHT TRAIN TO MUNICH (1940) starring Margaret Lockwood is that you're going to compare it to THE LADY VANISHES with which it has a lot in common. Not as good as Hitchcock's film but a decent train thriller.
