This reminds me of a story I heard on #NPR about a #Ukrainian man who left his home because. . . and when he went back, he found that the kitty he hadn't been able to take had fleas, and he killed over 100 of the fleas to help the kitty.
That is not the point of the story, but I'm a cat dad.

Shchedryk, known in English as Little Swallow, is a Ukrainian New Year's song by Mykola Leontovych heralding spring (their NY is Jan 13, so I'm early). 🇺🇦🪶🌿
Based on a traditional melody, it was first performed in 1916 and recorded in New York in 1922, then adapted with new lyrics into a Christmas song, Carol of the Bells, by a US composer.
