The Witch

In October 1958 on Shirley Temple's Storybook, Agnes Moorehead brilliantly portrayed the Witch in a producrion of Rapunzel with Carol Lynley & Don Dubbins as Prince Peter ... 6 years before playing another witch - Endora on Bewitched

I wouldn’t say #BunnyLakeIsMissing is #OskarPreminger’s best film - it’s hard to beat #AnatomyOfAMurder -, but it’s his film that’s closest to my heart. A woman reports her young daughter missing, but there seems to be no evidence that the daughter ever existed. The film is so far ahead of its time. Masterfully directed by Preminger, with outstanding performances by #CarolLynley and #LaurenceOlivier. - #CineMastodon #FilmMastodon

Otto Preminger’s Bunny Lake Is Missing (1965) starts as a straightforward police procedural about a missing child. The first subtle signs of oddness soon appear. It keeps getting stranger until finally it becomes quite bizarre.

#RIP #StellaStevens (1938–2023)

#Hollywood #actress at her peak in the 1960s, when, looking like a spicier #SandraDee, she was featured opposite #ElvisPresley in GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS! (1962), #JerryLewis in #TheNuttyProfessor (1963), and #GlennFord in PAPA'S DELICATE CONDITION (1964).

She's best remembered, however, for falling to her death in #RonaldNeame's #blockbuster #ThePoseidonAdventure (1972).

And for giving #CarolLynley a rock-hard slap in that same #movie.

The Shuttered Room (1967) is a Lovecraftian horror film and they're surprisingly rare. It might not be pure Lovecraftian horror but it at least manages a somewhat Lovecraftian feel, and it's thoroughly enjoyable, stylish and creepy.

Oliver Reed is one of the stars - always a plus. And he plays a wild rather crazed young man.
