  1. The Black and White of Zebra’s—(As I see it)

I have often had the privilege of observing zebras in the wild. Zebras are not merely creatures of some random black and white design. Every zebra has a unique "barcode". This allows the animals to be individually identified. To me, the white stripes focus on the physical beauty and attractiveness (kalology) of the zebra. The black stripes encapsulate the dark side of the animal's mentality - fierce and unapologetically wild. Zebras are not gentle or amenable like their equine brothers and […]

  2. Dombeya (Tropical Hydrangea)

I planted this beautiful Dombeya Burgessiae last winter, beneath a Wisteria tree, so it gets filtered morning sun. The beautiful flowers bloom from late summer to early winter. The Dombeya is classified as a tree, and is also known as the Pink White Pear and Pink Ball tree. What attracted me to the Dombeya was the long stems and large leaves, […]

Snakes are endemic to my environment, but I prefer to view these creatures from a distance.  I have often seen the spotted bush snake in my garden; no wonder, my garden has a lot to offer them, by way of geckos and frogs. A bright green spotted bush snakeHas made an appearance. He languishes on the split-pole fenceAbsorbing the heat, the sun gleaming off his length.I take no offence to his presence,He is harmless and deserves conserving. 5. Water Lily Photography

The water lily is my favourite flower to photograph.  Whenever I visit the local Botanical Garden, I head straight to the water lily pond.  I am never disappointed! I find that at any time of the day, water lilies photograph well, even when the sun is at its highest. There is so much for a photographer to practice when photographing these lilies.  You can take great pics of water reflections, macros, and abstracts. The above pic came out really well.  The intense sun overexposed the […]
