  1. Geckos: The little lizards that inspired my art!

  2. Majestic Elephant Art

For most of my life, African wildlife has been part of my world, so it was only natural that I’d be inspired to paint and photograph animals and birds. I love all wildlife — I don’t have a single favorite, as each creature has its own unique characteristics that make it special. Elephants are just as amazing as any other animal. What stands out to me is their immense size and their slow, deliberate pace. They are mysterious, playful, peaceful, and some are bad-tempered, but they are […]

  3. Lino Art: Peace Lilies with a splash of color.

This is my latest creative venture. I needed a break from a large painting that I am working on, and a linocut was just what I needed. If you have read my previous posts on printmaking, you will know that I find linocut work to be immersive, with unexpected results, which is exciting! There was one print that I did […]

  4. Zebra Mother and Foal

A fellow artist sent me a photo of a zebra and her foal, and he suggested I paint it. The picture was taken in a dry, hot area about a half-hour drive from Kruger Park, known as Marloth Park. Marloth is one of those places that never gets enough rain. The trees are stunted and grey, and rocks scatter the area. It is a unique place to visit - a true African bushveld experience. Wildlife wanders freely, and it is not surprising to see zebra, warthog, antelope, and giraffe in the gardens. […]

  5. For the Love of Flowers

The title of the art below is fitting. I love flowers and have been painting and photographing them for a long time. This art tested my patience, but it is the pinnacle of my love for flowers. My heart was in it from start to finish. Original Art. Oil on stretched canvas. H905mm x W905mm A monochrome print of the painting. Listed below are the twenty-five flowers that appear in the painting. (Left to right) St. Joseph's Lily, Camellia, Frangipani, Calla Lily, Azalea. Wild Geranium, […]

  6. Wherever my spirit leads me.

My name is Caroline Street, and I am from South Africa. This diverse and beautiful country influences everything I put my hand to. My blog posts encapsulate all the work I do, as mentioned below. God is the most important person in my life. He has moved me on a continuous journey of self-discovery through nature. I paint in all mediums, including digital art, and have completed over 750 pieces. I enjoy creating landscapes, animals, birds, still life, plants, portraits, figures, and […]
