"You've Got a Friend" is a 1971 song and single by American singer-songwriter #CaroleKing. It was first recorded by King and included on her second studio album, #Tapestry (1971). Another notable version, by #JamesTaylor, appears on his album #MudSlideSlimAndTheBlueHorizon (1971). His version, which features backing vocals by #JoniMitchell, was released as a single in 1971, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and number four on the #UKSinglesChart.

It was released as a single in April 1971 by #OdeRecords and reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and #AdultContemporary charts.
