Somehow the only thing I can think about is how great all those splash pages were in #CarlosTrillo and #EnriqueBreccia’s 1970s #comicbook series Alvar Mayor.

So much of what I know about how to compose a panel comes from Breccia. (Particularly his use of negative space.) He’s a dazzlingly great draftsman & storyteller with the ability to introduce poetry, irony, compassion, & awe to scenes that, in lesser hands, might just read as “adventure.”
