We get a free newspaper every week (Delft op zondag) with a comparison column "back in the day -today" and I find it horrifying to imagine living in this beautiful city during car-centric times. #carfreecities
(What you can't see in the Delft today picture is that between the trees are, besides bike parking, tables and chairs from the local restaurants and pubs. Also, some cars with a permit can still drive there, mostly to deliver to the local shops in the morning)

How can we make it more feasible for distributors to rely less on large trucks for delivery? I get that one driver in one tractor-trailer is probably more financially viable than several drivers in smaller vans or cargo bikes, but semis just don't work well in cities. #urbanism #bancars #carfreecities #safestreets

i finally visited the new park at 5m
the walkway is really nice (we definitely need more car-free spaces! +bollards)
as well as the street leading to to it. it's a narrow width and drivers naturally slow down. that's good traffic calming
