The Courts *could* go in harder - but there will be a backlash of piss tricking down from the CEOs of the finance companies all the way to the forecourt, folk who can pay cash will still be able to get nice motors, groups with lower income but reasonable credit ratings (who at the moment are taking advantage of relatively easy to get #carfinance) will be competing amongst each other (and immigrant communities who need transport) for whatever they could buy at cash price (often old sheds that are battle scarred and have barely scraped through MOT).this is the sort of thing which is going to push folk even closer into the arms of Reform UK (whose supporters constantly parrot the conspiracy theory that "left" governments only want the rich to drive #cars)

Another bump in there road towards consumers gaining compensation for secret commission payments in the car finance sector as the UK Supreme Court agrees to hear an appeal in the case that underpins the move to seek such compensation - the mass compensation programme, seems for now, to be paused...
The appeal will be held in the spring; so no Christmas presents with an unexpected refund from your car financing, I'm afraid.
