Update on this: Since #Carfax's entire revenue model is based on collecting information about people and their vehicles without their consent, they only do the bare minimum to protect consumer privacy, i.e., only what's required by law.
Since we live in Massachusetts, which doesn't have a good consumer privacy law, Carfax won't remove my wife's information, which was provided to them without our consent, from their database.

So, our car broke down while my wife was on the highway with it, and since it was being towed by AAA she had them tow it to the nearest AAA-affiliated garage, which we'd never used before.
A couple weeks later we get this email from #Carfax.
The shop gave my wife's PII, linked to our car's VIN, to Carfax without her knowledge or consent.
That is some serious bullshit.
I could raise a stink with them about it, but honestly, it wont' accomplish anything and I'm just so tired.

I'm clearing out some old stuff before winter. My kids said, "Don't use #Craigslist. Nobody uses that any more."
But last week I quickly sold a car, two snowmobiles and a trailer on Craigslist.
I like the more anon feel of it, unlike FB marketplace.
Someone attempted to get my #creditcard and personal info by asking for a cheap #Carfax report from a #scam website, but other than that, Craigslist still works. Just be careful.
