5. I’ve lost faith in them completely.
Much as I admire some of the nursing staff, who work bloody hard, it’s obvious that the home is being run down from its starting point, to extract maximum cash for its investors.
I knew little about how private equity works, but once you see it in operation, you realise why it’s such a cancer in our society.
I’m reaching out to another home.

3. The management showned up half an hour later on an unintelligible team call. Imagine a hallway packed with 60 elderly residents and family, trying to listen to a man warbling on a laptop, which was an amplified by holding a karaoke microphone next to the speaker. To add a dash more fubar, the speaker was set to add some weird echo/delay. Utter chaos.

1. After dropping their CQC care home rating from ‘good’ to ‘needs improvement’, and losing 3 managers in the space of 6 months, the management at my mum’s care home thought they’d print some bullshit PR to reassure (gaslight) everyone that things weren’t on the slide.It included satisfaction statistics that were entirely unattributed/fictitious (see pic).
