When all the vanlife types are driving through various countries, do they get turned around or get the van impounded if the vehicle doesn't meet the country's or the EU's motor vehicle standard?

Was reading on new e-cycle classifications in Massachusetts and it occurred to me that cycles probably have more trouble crossing borders than motor vehicles (cars, trucks, vans) do.
There are differences in regulations on motor vehicle equipment between US states and between nations, but I get the impression that they're more inflexible with cycles than cars. But perhaps I'm biased on this.
What do y'all think?

One of the powers of car centrism is that it severely weakens the power of protesting and chances of community organizing. I have a weak belief in this conspiracy theory considering colleges after the 1960s went out of their way to redesign their campuses to make protesting there less effective so student protesters could be more easily herded/isolated and ignored. this in tern made college campuses a lot more confusing and often spread out increasing the amount of inconvenience and walking. #carcentrism #protest #carCentric -
