I’ve been working on a native KDE client based on #Carburetor, and I’m happy to announce its release under the name #Karburetor.
The goal of this project is to provide a better Tor experience for KDE Plasma users with a client that fits naturally into the KDE ecosystem, without GNOME dependencies and with a focus on a more native, simple, and integrated experience.
In this release, several parts of Carburetor have been redesigned so Karburetor can run independently from GNOME. The settings, proxy management, and user interface have been adapted to better match KDE standards.
Karburetor now uses native KDE settings and integrates more smoothly with Plasma services. Proxy handling has also been improved, allowing Plasma and KDE applications to directly use the Tor connection.
New features include active Bridge detection, improved support for different Tor transports, and a more extensible architecture for future improvements.

Just upgraded #mobian #Trixie and all the #GTK4 apps have lost the ability to enter #DarkMode. At first I was blaming #Carburetor (the #tor toggler) but no, it's everything. #GTK3 apps like Geary are working fine though🫠️
Did this happen to anyone else? Anyway, in the meantime maybe I should just make light of it 🙃️
(PS: I hope I got my GTKs right someone please confirm)
Update: installing back xdg-desktop-portal-phosh fixed it; thanks @agx for the tip

I am NOT very mechanical. But my #lawnmower wouldn't start and the local shop was booked.
So... I did 'the youtube thing' and.... I frigg'n did it. I removed the #carburetor, took it apart, cleaned it, and put it back together! I realize for many of you this is trivial but for me, it's a huge stretch.
But I can't believe the miracle that is #Youtube. I found dozens of videos on how to do it. Even one for my exact model! I feel like I can do anything now...

So... I did 'the youtube thing' and.... I frigg'n did it. I removed the #carburetor, took it apart, cleaned it, and put it back together! I realize for many of you this is trivial but for me, it's a huge stretch.
But I can't believe the miracle that is #Youtube. I found dozens of videos on how to do it. Even one for my exact model! I feel like I can do anything now...

Even though I don't need it, I am running '#Carburetor', part of the Onion family of #Tor #browsers and their add ons. I am not really interested in light, dark webs. After all I am not in web3, the spiderverse or the #Rebel #Alliance. All I am trying to do is securely sell the UK to the #Co-op or similar franchising scheme ... #Tesco might be interested ... :thinkSpin:
So why is my connection 'stopped'? Is it because I am not allowing incoming #connections? Is it the new cable routeing going up everywhere. Is it my #Wi-Fi booster?
Don't ask me. I can barely get a straight answer from Yandex or SearXNG search engines. :Lemonjealous:

Putting my youngest daughter's old Chevy back together. I’ve never worked on a small block Chevy before. Everything on it is so much larger than the Datsun stuff I normally work on!
