If economics can be said to speak, it needs to shout LOUDLY about proper green regeneration (rather than plant-a-tree make-work): “Scientists found that natural #forest regeneration delivered substantial carbon and #biodiversity benefits and could be up to 96% cheaper than traditional tree-planting programs.” 🌳🪾🌲🌴🎄

My friend, Jane, from Lake Cowichan, was the first senior citizen activist who was arrested in 2021, at Fairy Creek Blockades. She messaged before heading out to meet up with me at HQ camp. She told me she's never been arrested for protesting anything before but due to seeing too much ecocide still happening in her golden years - declared, 'Getting arrested for protecting Mother Nature is now on my bucket list"🌲💦 💗🦅🌲🦉🌲 Jane stayed at HQ camp for 2 nights & on her 3rd day, headed out to chain herself/walker to a tripod hardblock. Jane was arrested, along with 12 others that day, after several hours. Jane is a wonderful human being, a musician, a fibers artist, a Mother & Grandmother, who loves nature very much.

It should be criminal to kill trees that are older than man-made cathedrals. The man-made cathedrals still get more protection status than ancient trees that are older than mankind. That is so very foolhardy & myopic of man.

#HBCU students, faculty, and community activists have joined forces to stop the environmentally destructive police training facility.

"#Environmental activists have long raised concerns about 'Cop City' due to its potential #ecological impact. The facility is slated to be built in the #WeelauneeForest (South River), a tract of undeveloped #forested land that serves as an essential #GreenSpace and #CarbonSink for the city. Activists say losing this green space would contribute to increased #AirPollution, decreased #biodiversity, and the exacerbation of #ClimateChange.

"Along with concern about the environmental impact, opposition to 'Cop City' from the #Black community also stems from fears of racial profiling, over-policing, and strained police-community relations. Critics argue that the allocated funds should be redirected to address systemic issues affecting Black residents, such as education and community development, rather than expanding policing resources."
