"Rastetter is an agriculture mogul and a major political donor. From 2015 to 2022, he donated more than $160,000 to the Kim Reynolds for Iowa campaign committee, according to state campaign disclosure reports. Those donations preceded her ascent to governor in 2017, when former Gov. Terry Branstad resigned to be the U.S. ambassador to China."

Rastetter is a name people who follow IA politics, which will definitely know as he has a lot of political connections and sway with current and former IA elected officials. These officials really want the pipeline as it is a lifeline for the ethanol industry.

"If the Midwest Carbon Express is built, residents across the Midwest will bear the risks associated with the #pipeline—potential leaks and ruptures, decreased property and crop values, increased violence against #Indigenous Peoples—while Summit Carbon Solutions, its financial backers, and Bruce Rastetter will reap the profits."
