There's a new Parkinson disease research article out that I just started reading, but I'm dismayed by the very first sentence in the abstract.
"Exposure to carbon disulfide (CS2) is a recognized risk factor in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease, yet the underlying mechanisms of deleterious effects on mitochondrial integrity have remained elusive. "
Although exposure to CS2 causes parkinsonism, CS2 exposure isn't a recognized risk factor for PD. However,
a case could be made
for a link between chronic CS2 exposure and multiple system atrophy.The article is:
