i accidentally grew military-grade chiles this year. 🌶️ ☣️

i cut one up to put in some vinegar with garlic and washed my hands. now a couple hours later my eyes and nose are burning (and i have made a conscious effort *not* to touch them just in case).

i have rubbed my hands twice with baking soda and water and coated them with oil. i can finally touch my tongue to my fingers without it hurting. 😭

Der Darm freut sich auch. #Kräuterapotheke

More than 4years ago I grew this one from seed. One of the parents was a reaper, i think. It is scarily inconsistent on the Scofield scale, but I like diversity and resilience, so I'm keeping it.

Ich habe hier eine Tüte #Habanero-Chips und wollte wissen, wie scharf die sind (sind lecker, aber nicht wirklich scharf).

Auf verschiedenen Seiten verschiedene Infos. Capsaisin
- erhöht und senkt den Blutdruck,
- verhindert und verursacht Magenschleimhautprobleme,
- hilft beim Abnehmen und läßt Fett leichter gespeichert werden,
- ...

Was stimmt da denn nun?

Der Chili-Inhaltsstoff #Capsaicin erfuhr wegen der #HotChipChallenge vor ein paar Monaten eine gesteigerte öffentliche Wahrnehmung. Das BfR hat im Nachgang eine umfassende Sichtung & Bewertung der seit 2011 veröffentlichten Literatur vorgenommen.

I love #hotsauce - hotter the better. My daily driver contains Trinidad Scorpion peppers, if that means anything.
Today I went to a local place that makes their own & asked for chicken with their hottest sauce on the side. First bite & swallow made hiccups (because blood rushes to your diaphragm) and is your body telling you "SLOW DOWN."
2nd note: It tastes terrible.
3rd note: It has two forms of #capsaicin extract in it, which is a direct cause of the previous notes.

Not only to I like #capsaicin in my food, I also shoot it up my nose 😅 This stuff actually works quite well when you have #chronic #rhinitis.
