Just got back from an absolutely lovely paddle to Capitola where there was some nice swell coming through for some fun waves and then paddling back was slow because I'm not in great shape currently.

And I saw two bat rays, one on the way over and one coming back which was nice, first sighting all summer (and since like April or May really)!

Just about no wind out on the water today was pretty nice, good paddling there and back. Took the Insta360 X5 in my pocket with a selfie stick in the other, no surfing with it yet but I did get some pretty nice footage out on the water. #paddleboard #capitola

I crossed over the thousand mile mark this weekend with two really nice road bike rides reaching 1003 miles for 2025. It was fortunate that we had nice weather over the weekend.

Left: This is a nice mostly flat 23 mile round trip road bike route we did on Saturday from Capitola (CA) to Wilder Ranch State Park and passing through Santa Cruz and along the Beach Boardwalk amusement park.

We did a leisurely road bike ride this morning on a beautiful Monterey Bay Saturday.

#Biking Santa Cruz CA

We did this 20 mile bike ride this weekend from #Capitola to the Seymour Marine lab north of #SantaCruz. My wife and I crossed over a 1000 bike miles each in 2024 this weekend. This is one of the nicer bike routes in the Santa Cruz area, IMHO. Starting at the Jade Street Park in Capitola, it is slightly inland for the first half then along the coast for the back half return to Capitola.

With all of the chaos surrounding us, it is a nice way to clear the head and get active outside in the fresh air.
