Less than half of rural hospitals in the U.S. offer labor and delivery care and hundreds more may end services due to financial challenges, according to a report from the policy firm Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform. 200 have closed labor and delivery centers in the last 10 years.
It all comes down to the US for-profit system. Corporate greed does not belong in healthcare.
