Finally the statue by Rodin in front of the Van Abbe Museum (not in the frame).

To me the statue always seems to be twisted, distorted, against the norm, and I tried to do that justice in the photo.

Went to Eindhoven today to photograph some of the famous statues as a very small photography project. The intent was to make the photos somewhat different from the norm, using just one lens. Canon RF 35 F1.8 on Canon EOS R10.

I pushed up the exposure in Darktable to bring more detail out in this photo of a female Pacific Koel (Eudynamys scolopacea). The Canon R10 had obviously over-compensated for the bright background, and I'm not experienced enough yet to fiddle about with the settings when I'm just trying to capture a photo. (Post-prod suggestions welcome)

A pair of these birds - more often heard than seen - were courting in our backyard Cheesetree (Glochidion ferdinandi)...

This salt lake in South Australia doesn't even have a name. It is 'officially' part of Lake Gardner, but stands alone, waiting for rain. Nothing moves here apart from the bush flies, blown to their doom by the prevailing winds.

Thanks to the magic of #macro, I don't even know which of my balcony weeds* this is, and from which pot. But who cares, right?
After several months with a macro lens I already found one of my favourite subjects: plant 'hairs', apparently called #trichomes.

* technically they aren't weeds because I haven't intentionally planted anything in said pots, but it's shorter to type than 'wild-growing grasses I never sowed but they still keep growing every year'.
