On my way to visit a coffee plantation I passed through the remote small town of Montenegro and was surprised to see that there is photo studio; something I'd expect in a more urban setting. Infrastructure in Colombia is poor - fly city to city then ride a donkey to town. While it's not as bad as that, these small town businesses have a #monopoly because the #isolation.

This domed cistern dates to #Roman times and remains functional today. I stepped inside the doorway to the sounds of frogs croaking loudly. Rainwater filters through the dome and is collected in a cool shady shallow pool. On top of the distant hill you can see the ruins of two Roman mausoleums.
