Some great talks today on the first full day of #ISEEC2026 #CancerEvolution, many of them from my Moffitt colleagues talking about cancer ecology and evolution during treatment

Great didactic at #MathOnco25 by @dwodarz.bsky.social showing the importance of space...and turnover in #cancerevolution

For those of you here interested in #MathOnco (and maybe #SomaticEvolution #CancerEvolution) this is an important resource, and since it is a newsletter you can keep up to date with the field whether you are here or twitter (or any other site):

What a week at the Field's discussing #MathOnco and #CancerEvolution / #CancerEcology. Thanks Jasmine Foo and Dominik Wodarz for organizing! and Thomas Hillen too!

Happy to join Mathematical Biosciences as an editorial board member. From what I hear I am not the only person in my group joining at this time but I am hoping to bring my expertise in #AgentBasedModels and #EvolutionaryGameTheory to model #CancerEvolution and #TreatmentResistance in the context of #Ecology

Inspiring presentation at #MoffittCancerCenter today by Baylor's Susan M. Rosenberg talking about #cancerEvolution BUT looking at something less common: the DNA damageone and how extrinsic elements change a tumor cell's mutation rate and thus key features of somatic evolution. Of note, Rosenberg shows data of how we can (not yet in cancer) reduce mutation rates resulting from treatment

Time for an #introduction:
I am an associate professor at the #MoffittCancerCenter in Florida. My group #CancerEvo and I are interested in #CancerEvolution and #CancerEcology and how those impact the #evolution of #cancer #resistance to #treatment. We do that by working very closely with cancer #biologists and clinicians using #math #mathonco models.I am also married to the lovely @pbiwan. A #neuroscientist and #scicomm professional whom I help with the #2Scientist podcast
