Nachdem ich heute meiner Freundin Eure Antworten, die sowohl Zuspruch als auch Bedenken enthielten, vorgelesen hatte, wirkte sie sehr nachdenklich.
Ob sie als weiße unbeschnittene Frau überhaupt es überhaupt dürfe, über die Ängste und Schmerzen der betroffenen Frauen zu schreiben? Ob es nicht #cancel_culture ist?Ich weiß es auch nicht. Und das sagte ich ihr auch so.
Sie fragte sich, ob sie nicht Betroffene interviewen müsste, also recherchieren, wie es den Frauen als Kinder vor und nach der (pharaonischen) Beschneidung erging.

Lukianoff, 49, is the president of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) and co-author with Jonathan Haidt of the bestselling The Coddling of the American Mind (2018). Schlott is a fellow at FIRE, a New York Post columnist, and a co-host of the Lost Debate podcast.
Cancel culture, they argue, constitutes a serious threat to free speech and open inquiry in academia and the workplace, and is best understood as a battle for power, status, and dominance.
