A Shared Lunch, Part IV! Next to share her lunch—which is not strictly speaking a lunch—is CFS Vol. 12 No. 3 author, Jen Brady. She writes, “Not being much of a lunch eater, I made a wrap with eggs and chili crisp for Second Breakfast, which I ate at my desk after getting my kids to school.”
Brady’s photograph exemplifies the working lunch, or Second Breakfast, rather. She pairs her eggs with work that explores “newcomers’ experiences and meanings of accessing culturally appropriate food” (Bessey et al., p.113). Read and find out more: https://doi.org/10.15353/cfs-rcea.v12i3.622

A Shared Lunch, continued!
Fieldwork yields so much more than data, as Jennifer Temmer shares: “While this is not my current lunch, I wish it were! During my fieldwork in Kakisa, a community member gifted me some moose meat so I made homemade tortillas for moose meat tacos with salsa made with tomatoes from the community garden. We all agreed they were delicious!”
What do community gardens mean to Kakisa community members? What resources do they have at their disposal and what strategies are needed to maintain them long term? Read and find out more from Temmer et al.: https://doi.org/10.15353/cfs-rcea.v12i3.737

A Shared Lunch! Next to share her lunch is Chloe Alexander, whose article in Vol. 12 No. 3 of Canadian Food Studies addresses food loss and waste as it meets jurisdiction. How do the federal, provincial, territorial, and municipal governments in Canada address food loss and waste? And are there alternative ways to interpret jurisdiction and amend and improve governance? https://canadianfoodstudies.uwaterloo.ca/index.php/cfs/issue/view/41
On a small scale, Alexander’s lunch demonstrates the author’s personal preoccupation with food waste reduction. It’s made of leftovers! "...from a get together with friends—handmade pasta with a tomato/eggplant/mushroom sauce, topped with ricotta and parmesan cheese." (“Yum!” —ed.)
From the personal, Alexander’s article deftly walks readers through the systemic. Read and find out more: https://doi.org/10.15353/cfs-rcea.v12i3.720

A Shared Lunch! Vol. 12 No. 3 of Canadian Food Studies is about being “in it” together, so we thought we’d follow that ethos and share our lunch with you… Or actually, our authors’ lunches.
Elaine Power starts it off with her shared lunch: “A bowl of squash, parsnip and carrot soup, made from my last CSA veggie box of the year, with Aleppo chilies on top; a local Honeycrisp apple; and some Manchego cheese.”
There are certainly some shared sensibilities between Power’s lunch and her responses to the CFS Choux Questionnaire. But why take our word for it? Read, and find out: https://doi.org/10.15353/cfs-rcea.v12i3.775
