I managed to finish edits on the written portion of Book 4 today, and there are only 5 or 6 chapters left to draft! This is excellent, because not only is the finish line in sight, now that I’m no longer merging different versions of the same scene, my word count isn’t going to drop drastically anymore.

Trashing whole scenes has made it tricky to keep track of my words drafted for July #CampNano (unofficially on my writing group’s shared spreadsheet).

Is anyone doing #CampNano? I want to finish the first draft of my memoir-mental health-self help-journal type thing and decided setting myself a goal of 50k words in July is the best way to do it 😅#AmWriting

1,200 words today before I had to stop.

I'm hoping to finish or get close with a supporting plot / worldbuilding document before #CampNaNo but I'm not entirely sure I can.

If not, I THINK I will focus on the actual story (I have all of it sloppily outlined) because it feels weird to make your Camp Nano goal "finish Story / Setting Bible"

Also let me know if any of y'all are doing Camp NaNo in July and want to be friends

I wanted to write 5K words for fanfiction (I'm in two exchanges and needed to kick my butt into gear) and then the last 10K to my novel. But I ended up with writing the whole 15K goal to fanfiction. Oh well.

I'm having a slow start participating in #CampNaNoWriMo this month. Starting a new Big Project, I am struggling to get into the voice of the characters.
But I'm optimistic that within a few days, I'll get used to it, and writing will go more smoothly.

Doing some prep work on a story project that I want to play with for #CampNano, and I have to say that IT IS GROWING MORE COMPLICATED BY THE SECOND.

It's like the puzzle box in Hellraiser, this plot.

Only hopefully once I solve it, I won't have the skin flayed from my body or anything like that.

Dusting off my manuscript to do #CampNaNo / #CampNaNoWriMo

The great thing about the camp ones is (though I find the UI unfriendly) you can set whatever goal you want. You can even edit instead of write that month if you so desire. For disability reasons I would never try to do the Main event in November. But Camp seems doable.

I set a goal of 3000 words for this month. I Think that'd doable.

If you're joining, let me know, I think there's a way to friend people on the site.

Anyway, please hold me accountable this month, even if I don't make the goal, to at least sit down and write.

So my #CampNaNo plan for this month is to write a bunch of sci-fi short stories. Also, I should write something which isn't a sapphic romance. Not that there's anything wrong with sapphic romances, but 2 is probably plenty for now.

There's no better time for washing windows than on the first Saturday of #CampNaNo, when you're already lagging behind your target wordcount.

I have about 40 minutes to reach the today's wordcount goal for #CampNaNo. :) Which is not much, because I set the bar low this month. And still, I'm looking basically at a blank page. lol
