"The main thing to remember in autobiography, I have always thought, is not to let any damned modesty creep in to spoil the story. This adventure is mine, Albert Campion's, and I am fairly certain that I was pretty nearly brilliant in it in spite of the fact that I so nearly got myself and old Lugg killed that I hear a harp quintet whenever I consider it."
Opening paragraph of The Case of the Late Pig by Margery Allingham

My #MurderEveryMonday (roads and highways on the cover) gets a road, a road sign on the cover, and road on the title, the title was translated as Road to Death.
The original title is Mystery Miles. Didn't read this one yet. -
White campion, growing in our yard. The plant is not native to North America, but is now found in most US states.

Part of the garden by the side of the house. Used to be a bare, utilitarian strip with only the tree, shrubs and hedging. I then transformed it into something more appealing over the course of three or four years. Wildflower mounds towards the back.
In the centre of the photograph, the bigger of our two Angelica archangelica (Garden angelica).
They are biennials but, curiously, in their third (!) year.

There was a time when white campion was on its way to taking over my whole back garden. Now that other plants are more robust, I let it pop up here and there and it behaves itself. It is kind of pretty. #Campion #Flowers #Gardening #BloomScrolling #Florespondence

[🧵 2/3] More of South Stack's wonderful #wildflowers (and a bonus #insect) photographed at the beginning of this month in the company of my brother @rob_camera.
Clockwise from top left: Sea #Campion (a.k.a Dead Man's Bells, Witches Thimbles or Devil's Hatties!), Common #Centaury, English #Stonecrop, and Sheep's-bit with a Potter #Wasp (Ancistrocerus sp.).

One of my favourite wild flowers is Red Campion. I’ve taken inspiration from some Red Campion flowers, which have a variety of shades of pink, and have stretched that theme to pinks, purples and purplish-blue to make up a sash.

The #Summer #Wildflower #White #Campion (Silene latifolia) is known as #Thunder #Flower or #Thunderbolt.
Flower #Legend says folks were #Leary of picking White Campion, believing it would cause a #Storm or cause #Death from a #Lightning strike.
The flower is also known by other #Malevolent names like #Mother #Die. While flower picking, #Children chanted a #Verse that warned against picking White Campion, as doing so would #Kill their mother.
