The best time to find out you've got the beginnings of a cold is certainly not a few hundred metres into a 10K run, when you suddenly find it difficult to breath.

I struggled to my finish in 53:47 in Grantchester this morning, stopping after 2K to do my inhaler. Afterwards, a guy said to me he'd been following me most of the way and I was really pushing it, which helped him get his PB. Different strokes for different folks!

I did the Cogwheel Canter this morning in Girton; 10K in just under 50 mins. My Running Events Cambridgeshire t-shirt got its first outing. I'm a little under the weather so my throat and lungs didn't thank me, but I need to keep getting the runs in ahead of my Cambridge Half Marathon run for Centre 33 in March. Please sponsor me!

I ran the Cambridge Town and Gown 10K last weekend. The weather held so conditions were perfect and I surprised myself with a quick run for me: 45:55. I think I've not run 10K that fast since the start of 2021; my "new" second-hand Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 shoes may have helped.

That was surprisingly enjoyable! The Grantchester 10K was very soggy, but fortunately wasn't a mud bath. I wasn't well this week after picking up a cold at my conference in Croatia, but I was starting to feel better on Friday in time for my anniversary dinner. Plenty of caffeine and sugar and the REC runners saw me through today. The medal has a clock on it: see AltText for the meaning.

I did the Cambridge Half Marathon this morning in 1:57, which I'm happy with. I paced it well, didn't push too hard, and even got in a sprint finish. It was a chilly start, but pretty ideal conditions.
