@pocketvj I find #calcurse not that bad. I use a combination of calcurse and #when (birthdays) to display upcoming events on my home screen (#conky).

@csessh Yes. #calcurse on different devices and #syncthing to sync between them.

@csessh Also nice about #calcurse is that you can output upcoming events in text format. I use this to output upcoming events on my #postmarketos #sxmo #linuxphone.

I recently tried #calcurse again. Saw a DOS version was available at archive.org. So, I figured it would probably work on Windows if it works on DOS. Was able to get it to port to Windows. That way, I can use it at home or at work and on a Linux system or a Windows system. #FOSS #OpenSource

Spent some time last night setting up #calcurse with #caldav support syncing to my regular cloud-hosted calendar. Great fun - now in sync across all my devices, and I get to avoid a Web interface where possible whilst also having my calendar up-to-date on my mobile. Neat.

Today I managed to install and configure
- my contacts (vdirsyncer + khard, formerly khal)
- my calendar (calcurse + calcurse-caldav. Might switch to vdirsyncer)
- my mail (offlineimap + neomutt)
- my todo txt (todo.sh)

Not happy with saving credentials in plain text :-(

But I can look into Lua (conky and awesome WM widgets) next!

Alright, alright! Finished the #calcurse setup so far. And of course I put, hopefully also will stick to it, put a recurring schedule for a weekly backup.
Config and datadir are in sync- and backup location already. Looking good so far 🤓

Playing around with #calcurse for the first time (if I remember correct....)
As usual #linuxmint only provides an outdated version but luckily, Debian .deb package install run smoothly 👏
Two things I need to figure out directly:
1. don't want the entries to be stored in .local/share...
2. how to set recurring appointments?

But so far it's all fun and exciting 🤓

I've installed #calcurse on my desktop and #pinephone and use #syncthing to synchronize my calendar.
