Its been a while since I last volunteered contributions to #libreoffice #writer, but I have been a contributor for a decade or so allowing me to know it will be in dire straits without this bunch: Caolan, mst, Miklos and sberg -- not just for their code, but also for their hearts and souls serving and growing Writer for multiple decades, bringing it from the shaky StarOffice origins to the trusty workhorse it became.
I guess @erAck can say the same about #Calc now without e.g. @kohei .

Things I Learned Today;Defined styles *can not* be modified when any sheet in the file has been protected.
There is a check that prevents a style definition from being modified if any sheet has the protection flag set.
The solution is to remove the protection flag on all sheet. See [Tools/Protect Sheet...] and look for check mark in front.

Wir wir gerade bei Tipps für #LibreOffice sind: Ihr könnt in #Calc Zeilen oder Spalten ganz einfach verschieben. Einfach ALT gedrückt halten. Dann geht das ganz ohne wilde Rumkopierorgien um den Inhalt der Zielzellen vorher zu retten.

Weil ich es selbst gerade brauchte, es etwas unintuitiv funktioniert und ich weiß, dass viel zu viele das Feature nicht kennen: Die Kopfzeilen in #LibreOffice #Calc lassen sich fixieren. Damit lässt sich auch in langen Tabellen leicht sehen, in welcher Spalte man gerade ist.

Ich möchte bei LibreOffice Calc ein benutzerdefinierte Zahlenformat anlegen, nämlich m³.
Die passende Anleitung habe ich auch gefunden. Dort steht: "Wählen Sie Format – Zelle… – Register: Zahlen"
Aber "Register: Zahlen" gibt es bei mir nicht.Hat jemand einen Tipp, wie ich mein Zahlenformat anlegen kann?

Behind the scenes, I have found a lot of uses for Calc spreadsheets (which I refer to as my "odious spreadsheets", because they're in "ODS" format).
In the screencap below from a doc, I was using it to establish the finishing state of various 3D assets.
I also use it every year for accounting for income taxes.

i found the need to make a filament tracker in a spreadsheet... i want a rough estimate of how much filament i have left in a roll so i can plan how many prints i have left. i'm rounding up to the nearest gram on each print so i'll always have some left over to account for whatever waste when swapping filaments, etc. that way i can get the most out of roll, i feel! also, it'll be nice to track my prints in general.
i'm using the filament id to be able to input it as shorthand and calculate it with
=(G3-SUMIF($PrintLog.C:C,A3,$PrintLog.D:D)) -

Later I used #LibreOffice and #Zotero, because it was easier to handle at some parts. And I use LibO unto this day - it‘s an important tool for my daily work and I couldn‘t do it especially without #Calc.
But for texts I tend to use #Markdown and use #LibreOffice for output. Maybe i could as well use pandoc to generate some #XeTeX files and see what I get out of it?
In any case: If ever had to write anything regarding humanities again, I would pick it up again.

Seeking #recommendations for #alternatives to #Microsoft #Excel. Ideally #FOSS but not a hard requirement. I tried #LibreOffice #Calc and #CryptPad but found their capabilities lacking. E.g., I need something comparable to Excel's tables that allows me to refer to table and column names in my formulas instead of just cell locations. It looks like #SoftMaker can, but they also integrate #ChatGPT, and I'd like to avoid my money helping destroy the #environment and oppress the #GlobalSouth.

I guess #gnumeric is lighter, so it would be good for people that just need expenses in spreadsheets on an old computer for their organization.. But I had better luck adding data labels with #Calc.
But I really need to focus and do a script to put out simpler charts of lines, with better labels, with plot. At this sort of level, maybe just Racket's pict would be good. Each labeled column or row as a named pict would go well for sequenced appearances, arrows, annotations and quizes in slideshow. -

Ich bin als #Mathematiker und #Physiker ja #Statistik Freak. Also habe ich umfangreiche #Calc #Tabellen in #LibreOffice zu unseren #Wohnkosten im #Einfamilienhaus.
#Kreditabzahlung (also quasi die "#Miete" / #Kaltmiete) nicht eingerechnet, waren unseren höchsten #Wohnnebenkosten (also die "#Mietnebenkosten") seit 2007 1.770,02 Euro pro Jahr - inklusive sämtlichem #Strom für #Heizung und #Warmwasser, #Wasser, #Abwasser, #Wohngebäudeversicherung, #Grundsteuer und #Müllgebühren (#Öl oder #Gas hatten wir nie).
Mit der ersten #PV Anlage 2011 sanken diese durch #Einspeisung und #Eigenverbrauch auf 267,09 Euro pro Jahr und stiegen durch Preissteigerungen dann bis 2022 wieder an - maximal auf 1.283,01 Euro pro Jahr.
Mit der zweiten #PV-Anlage seit April 2023 sind unsere Wohnnebenkosten für 2023 auf 130,67 Euro gesunken. 2.372,02 Euro Wohnnebenkosten stehen 1.686,61 Euro Einnahmen (zugegeben durch die noch hohe Einspeisevergütung der alten Anlage) und Nichtausgaben von 553,74 Euro durch #Eigenverbrauch (ohne #Stromspeicher) gegenüber.
Ohne die hohe Einspeisevergütung der Altanlage hätten wir 975,63 Euro weniger Einnahmen durch Verkauf gehabt.
Damit wären die Einnahmen nur noch 710,98 Euro gewesen, zusammen mit dem Eigenverbrauch also eine Einsparung von 1.264,72 Euro und Jahreswohnnebenkosten von 1.107,20 Euro. Auch das wären gerade mal 92,28 Euro pro Monat oder 3,03 Euro pro Tag für Heizung und Warmwasser (beides Wärmepumpe), Hausshaltsstrom, Grundsteuer, Wohngebäudeversicherung und Müllgebühren.
Den Eigenverbrauch können wir durch einen Stromspeicher aber noch steigern und müssen dann weniger verkaufen (was wir sonst teurer wieder einkaufen müssen), zumal dieses Jahr auch noch das #Elektroauto kommt, wir also insgesamt mehr Strom selber brauchen werden.
Wer also keine #Wärmepumpe und keine #Photovoltaik macht, wenn er die Möglichkeit dazu hat, dem ist einfach nicht zu helfen 🤷♂️🤦♂️

Eine einzellige Array-Formelzelle lässt sich einfach mit Copy (Ctrl+C) kopieren und in einen selektierten/markierten Zielbereich mit Paste (Ctrl+V) einfügen; relative Zell-Referenzen in der Formel werden dabei wie üblich entsprechend angepasst. -
