The news that there will not be a rail link between #Aberystwyth and #Caerfyrddin for a long time (https://nation.cymru/news/no-chance-of-rail-link-between-carmarthen-and-aberystwyth-being-restored-in-next-40-years-councillors-told/) seems sad, but I think our past is blinding us to the best solution for sustainable transport network. We should be studying metre gauge systems such as those in Switzerland. This has many advantages: better acceleration/deceleration, sharper cornering, steeper inclines, lines can run as trams in cities. Ideal for our terrain. And great for tourism.
