As a technologist and a pragmatic business person, I think this is a great trend. Surprisingly, as a #CISO I still think this is a great trend—provided that regulatory requirements are met, of course.
#ShadowIT is often a bogeyman that has more to do with span of control than with legitimate concerns about #DLP. If people are bringing in their own tools, it's usually because the enterprise-provided tools are failing them or the organization lacks the #businessagility and vision to take advantage of productivity enhancers fast enough.
Don't avoid #AI that genuinely benefits your staff or customers. When done right, #BYOAI and shadow IT can do more good than harm. Keep doing the sensible #cybersecurity things, but please stop treating#AI as an employee replacement option rather than a useful work-product enhancement tool.
