"flohmarkt provides its own http server that can be used stand-alone to show small ads that registered users may publish."Seems you can make it so that sellers register via a free account providing email address.. and then buyers can make enquiries in what is a form of activity pub mastodon post called 'notes', seems to essentially support private messaging from interested folks back to the seller.
It's possible to boost/share item posts in mastodon too.
