i think this image of the 1950’s #Butterick pattern #100 that i just got, will make a few of my #sewing #costura peeps squeal with delight.the pattern is complete and in my size and i just cannot!
it’s the first time i get my hands on a pre-1970s sewing pattern, especially a 1950s basic block like this one. am reckoning that the 1950s re-issues may NOT be faithful to the originals.
the 1950s B100 block doesn’t have straight sides! first time i see anything like it.

I have been #sewing quite a lot of black pieces for my wardrobe lately. I sing with a community choral group and we wear formal black in all of our performances, so now I have several separates that are appropriate to wear. Here's my latest #sew - This tuxedo jacket has been in my sewing queue for a couple of years so I'm glad to finally sew it. I still have the lining to sew and some finishing touches (ie, button & buttonhole) but I'm making steady progress and I'm very pleased with how it is looking (and fitting).
It is so wonderful to sew a coordinated wardrobe that looks great & fits me. This is one of the many reasons I love to sew. (I also sewed the camisole that is worn underneath the jacket in the picture).
The jacket pattern is #Simplicity 9138; and the camisole pattern is #Butterick 5487 (both patterns are out of print but can be purchased from many reseller websites)

@quincy @vwbusguy BTW, the TL;DR on #copilot is there are 2 ways to comply w/ #FOSS licensing: 1. Give attribution & all that’s required by the FOSS license; or 2. exploit the #fairUse doctrine. MS is clearly non-compliant w/most license texts b/c it does not give attribution. #Butterick also makes a case for how the #fairUseDoctrine is being violated.
