I think I might be losing it. It has been extra windy where I am staying, a place I come back to and have stayed at for many many years, yet the wind has seemed relentless this time. In the night I woke, and with the wind howling through my open window (yes I like an open window when I sleep) the thought popped up 'it's those bl**dy missiles stirring up the weather.' Putting aside the total madness of the killing and the old men who will do anything to stay in power), I went on to think about how any amount of save the planet is so quickly undone when those same old men are allowed to play their war games. Israel is pulling Trump's strings, Trump - well, I'll just say Epstein, the others you can add your own thoughts/monikers. I closed the window and went back to sleep.

#CaughtStealing is one of those #movies of being in the wrong #place at the wrong #time when doing a favor to the wrong #friend.
It’s a #crime #drama with some #comedy or #humor, but those jokes are not presented as jokes. They’re more like situational jokes. Like #ButterflyEffect jokes.
Highly recommended. That hour and 50 minutes felt like 10 minutes.

...the older song of which it is a version.
Barrett Marshall - Kaleidoscope (feat. Moon Water)
https://youtu.be/SAnJUox9T7k?si=74ixjaFqecBrS5NhI was not aware when "Butterfly Effect" first came out that it was based on "Kaleidoscope". I'm not imputing any dishonesty to MODHAUS, as Barrett Marshall and Moon Water receive their proper notice in the album credits.
I do like the original song, but listening to it I am reminded of how much performance means to me as a Kpop fan. Where would I be without the choreography here? Not in a bad place, but not in the best ( i.e a few feet from Heejin et al.) either.

Every weekend I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I have chosen ARTMS -- Butterfly Effect.
This fancam from Cologne of one of my favourite ARTMS songs (starts at 46:17) makes me think that I should go see Kpop live...but then this fancam has been shot from such an advantageous spot that I wonder if my actual experience would be an anticlimax.
I derive so much pleasure from the performance and visual aspects of Kpop, which makes it interesting to compare my response to this performance of "Butterfly Effect" with my feelings towards...

🌪️ Chaos in Simple Dynamic Systems - Why it Matters in Physics & Simulations
Chaos is one of the most fascinating aspects of nonlinear dynamics. Even in the simplest systems governed by deterministic equations, a tiny change in initial conditions can lead to dramatically different outcomes - a phenomenon popularly known as the “butterfly effect.”
Two toy problems here illustrate how chaos emerges in physical systems:
🔹 Problem 1 - Lorenz Attractor
A set of three nonlinear ODEs originally derived to model atmospheric convection. What starts as a simple flow model quickly evolves into the famous “butterfly” trajectory - showing how sensitive fluid systems are to initial conditions.🔹 Problem 2 - Chaotic Billiards
Two balls start with nearly identical positions inside a circular boundary. Initially, their paths overlap, but after a few bounces, their trajectories diverge completely - despite following the same physical laws of elastic collisions.💡 These toy examples highlight a deeper truth:
Chaos is not randomness. It arises from deterministic equations that amplify small differences.
Capturing chaotic dynamics accurately in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) or turbulence simulations is an ongoing challenge in physics, HPC, and AI.
In real-world engineering, this sensitivity influences weather prediction, turbulence modeling, aerodynamics, and even industrial process simulations. Here are some animations of both systems - the iconic Lorenz attractor and the chaotic motion of bouncing balls - to visualize just how quickly order gives way to apparent disorder:

#ScienceFiction #Quantum #Writing #Evolution #ButterflyEffect
I have published the essay #5 in my Transgressive Science Fiction series. It discusses the generalized evolutionary principle in the context of quantum mechanics.
Previously, I argued that hive minds must be diverse, not totalitarian. That artificial minds must be emotional, not rational. That digital devices must be plugged into the human framework, not vice versa.

The butterfly effect describes how small changes can lead to vastly different outcomes in complex systems. This concept in chaos theory suggests that a butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil could eventually cause a tornado in Texas.

i wonder if it's possible to make a video game that would teach kids the intuition behind the "butterfly effect" by making each subsequent level's initial conditions determined by the outcome of the previous level, in such a way that the gameplay would guide you towards understanding that tiny decisions made on the first level will have huge consequences on level two, etc. #chaos #butterflyEffect #chaosTheory #deterministic #systems #nonlinear #differentialEquations #bifurcation cc @JamesGleick

...of view, any such prospective change (#e.g. #reforestation) will involve a #ChaoticSystem. These are sensitively dependent on initial conditions, something better known as the #ButterflyEffect.
So, as your example shows, by trying to "fix" the #climate we might actually be making things even worse.

Today, the CIA has some exciting news to share. We have recently declassified information about a top-secret program in which we experimented with time travel! Yes, you read that right - time travel!
For years, we have been working on developing technology that would allow us to send agents back in time to gather intelligence and potentially change the course of history. After many years of research and development, we finally succeeded in building a time machine.
Our agents traveled back to various key moments in history, including the American Revolution, World War II, and even the Renaissance. They were able to gather vital intelligence and change the outcome of some historical events.
However, we must admit that there were some unintended consequences. For example, we inadvertently caused the extinction of the dinosaurs by accidentally leaving a piece of advanced technology in the past. We also caused a minor disruption in the timeline when an agent accidentally stepped on a butterfly during the Renaissance.
But don't worry - we have since fixed these issues and have implemented strict protocols to prevent any further disruptions. We also want to assure everyone that we are not currently using time travel as a tool for intelligence gathering or manipulation.
So, did we change history with our time travel experiments? The answer is a resounding yes! But we want to stress that we did so responsibly and with the utmost care for the timeline.
As always, we remain dedicated to protecting our nation and its citizens, no matter what timeline we find ourselves in!
