I think I might be losing it. It has been extra windy where I am staying, a place I come back to and have stayed at for many many years, yet the wind has seemed relentless this time. In the night I woke, and with the wind howling through my open window (yes I like an open window when I sleep) the thought popped up 'it's those bl**dy missiles stirring up the weather.' Putting aside the total madness of the killing and the old men who will do anything to stay in power), I went on to think about how any amount of save the planet is so quickly undone when those same old men are allowed to play their war games. Israel is pulling Trump's strings, Trump - well, I'll just say Epstein, the others you can add your own thoughts/monikers. I closed the window and went back to sleep.

It’s a #crime #drama with some #comedy or #humor, but those jokes are not presented as jokes. They’re more like situational jokes. Like #ButterflyEffect jokes.
Highly recommended. That hour and 50 minutes felt like 10 minutes.

I do like the original song, but listening to it I am reminded of how much performance means to me as a Kpop fan. Where would I be without the choreography here? Not in a bad place, but not in the best ( i.e a few feet from Heejin et al.) either.

Every weekend I look back at the preceding week in Kpop and pick out a music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I have chosen ARTMS -- Butterfly Effect.
This fancam from Cologne of one of my favourite ARTMS songs (starts at 46:17) makes me think that I should go see Kpop live...but then this fancam has been shot from such an advantageous spot that I wonder if my actual experience would be an anticlimax.
I derive so much pleasure from the performance and visual aspects of Kpop, which makes it interesting to compare my response to this performance of "Butterfly Effect" with my feelings towards...

Chaos is one of the most fascinating aspects of nonlinear dynamics. Even in the simplest systems governed by deterministic equations, a tiny change in initial conditions can lead to dramatically different outcomes - a phenomenon popularly known as the “butterfly effect.”
Two toy problems here illustrate how chaos emerges in physical systems:

A set of three nonlinear ODEs originally derived to model atmospheric convection. What starts as a simple flow model quickly evolves into the famous “butterfly” trajectory - showing how sensitive fluid systems are to initial conditions.🔹 Problem 2 - Chaotic Billiards
Two balls start with nearly identical positions inside a circular boundary. Initially, their paths overlap, but after a few bounces, their trajectories diverge completely - despite following the same physical laws of elastic collisions.💡 These toy examples highlight a deeper truth:
Chaos is not randomness. It arises from deterministic equations that amplify small differences.
Capturing chaotic dynamics accurately in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) or turbulence simulations is an ongoing challenge in physics, HPC, and AI.
