Just a head’s up: There’s strobing & fucked up stuff in “Lizard in a Woman's Skin”(1971)🇮🇹, including sexual violence & simulated vivisection. If this isn’t for you I recommend “But I’m a Cheerleader”(1999). Available for 🆓 here (https://tubitv.com/movies/447913/but-i-m-a-cheerleader)

Because of the #SCOTUS decision. Not about trans ppl, but it is about rejection of gender roles. So maybe also appropriate this #TDOV. Fun film at any rate, from a different era.

Oh, before I forget. We watched But I'm A Cheerleader today because to my embarrassment, I'd only ever seen bits and pieces of it.
When I checked where it was streaming I was surprised to find it's available on the Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/but-im-a-cheerleader-jamie-babbit-1999
Enjoy! And be a little extra queer today. :QueerCat_Pride: #ButImACheerleader

But I'm a Cheerleader (1999)
★☆☆☆
Trop caricatural et jouant à fond sur les clichés, quitte à en devenir lourdingue (et pas drôle).

In catching up on movies I should have seen ages ago and never got around to;
Boy do I wish I'd seen But I'm a Cheerleader earlier, if nothing else bc the stuff about the kissing and attraction might have helped me figure out I was ace way earlier.
It is weird to feel so seen by a movie from the late 90s about an orientation I'm not

Though not #queer, Lynskey & Lyonne are adored #LGBTQIA+ #allies. #Gay #men love them, #queer #women are #inlove with them, & all others are at least partially #obsessed with the pair.

Poker Face ... get on it people!

Natasha Lyonne as a lesbian cheerleader in conversion therapy, RuPaul(!) as a converted “ex-gay” working there, Michelle Williams in a small role and Julie-f-ing-Delpy making a cameo appearance credited as “Lipstick Lesbian”. What a surprising gem!
