I was watering the yard after scattering a bunch of wildflower seeds, then I heard a familiar sound. These two hawks were circling overhead.

Le col d’Aubisque était hélas fermé m’obligeant à faire demi-tour, mais l’ascension valait le coup. Eaux-Bonnes en ville abandonnées. Remplacée par la station de Gourette. @mjohanning It could very well be. I don't know where the photo is taken, but I can say that here in Sweden, we have Common buzzards - Buteo buteo - that can be very pale, or have huge white spots or areas. We have even given them a name of their own "Börringevråk".
Börringe is a village in the south of Sweden, and "vråk" is the part of "ormvråk" that we kept in the name of it.

(An image search in Google should give you plenty of examples on what ours can look like.)

Now we were both soaked, waiting for the shower to end but she gave me all the time to take a few portraits.
