Guía para construir un Amiga 4000T desde cero

John “Chucky” Hertell ha publicado la primera y segunda parte de una guía técnica para construir un Amiga 4000T desde cero, con enfoque totalmente práctico y avisando que no dará soporte a quienes se desvíen del montaje indicado.

La primera parte recomienda empezar por las daughterboards: placa de conectores y Drive I/O (terminación SCSI, disquetera, lógica 74LS) y la placa de Audio/Video (chips de señal como el CXA1263AM y jumpers para audio de CD). Se destaca un punto crítico: los conectores DSUB requieren modificar sus laterales para encajar. También se detalla el cableado, con dos ribbon cables de 40 pines de longitudes exactas: 20 cm (SHORT) y 25 cm (LONG), conectados según etiquetas para evitar daños en chips como Paula o las CIAs.

La segunda parte entra en la motherboard, donde la alimentación con fuente AT exige seguir la regla de “cable negro al centro” para no quemar la placa. Hertell remarca la soldadura de zócalos PLCC como principal fuente de fallos y propone avances por hitos: comprobar sincronismo tras montar chips como LISA/ALICE/FAT GARY, ajustar el jumper del reloj CPU (INT/EXT según CPU/aceleradora) y usar DiagROM para pruebas iniciales. Finalmente se cubren memoria (hasta 16 MB de Fastmem en placa), recomendaciones de terminación SCSI y detalles de Kickstart 40.70.

Дістав з загашників #RasberryPi2, який купляв дуже давно. Він вийшов у 2015 році та все ще працює. Оновив на ньому систему до #buster (була #jessie), але працює усе дуже повільно. Думав підняти на ньому #HomeAssistant для свого розумного будинку, але він працює тільки на 4 чи 5 версії Pi.

Kinda pulled a whammy on myself. Tried to play with #Docker on my home #RaspberryPi4 and had #Debian #Buster on it. Tried to leapfrog to #Bookworm past #Bullseye and probably borked the Raspi-firmware on my way. I don’t have a microHDMI or a screen at home, so it’s off to work to fix it. I think my MicroSD adapter is also at work, so I have to do that anyhow. At least it’s not production and across the country. LOL. Blarg.

Finally, I did the update of my #pihole from debian #buster to #bullseye following the instructions found here:

Because I have a static IP configured the network connection was not done after the reboot. I guess the reason was the new ethernet interface naming. As soon as I change eth0 to the new "enxb..." name in dhcpcd.conf everything worked fine, again. Now I see (ip address show), that the interface name is "eth0" again.
In dhcpcd.conf there is a fallback to "eth0".

@leofebey Excellent & congrats! My #OctoPrint installation is so old that it‘s still based on #RaspberryPiOS #Buster. This worked well for my #Prusa i3mk3s+. But I switched to a #BambuLab X1 Carbon (and an A1 mini) and there‘s an experimental integration for BambuLab printers for OctoPrint that requires a #Python version >= 3.9. So I have to migrate to #Bullseye and am not quite sure about the smoothest path here … 🧐

Wurde heute morgen um 5 Uhr von schrill-kratzigen Piepsgeräuschen geweckt. Dachte erst, das sei mein Gassensor in der Küche. War aber mein #Backupserver (#Chenbro #ES34069 Gehäuse, #Supermicro #X7SPA-HF, #Debian 10 #Buster, #BackupPC), der alle paar Sekunden rebootete. 😰 Sieht nach serbelndem, externem #Netzteil aus. Sobald ich alle Datenfestplatten rausziehe und damit den Stromverbrauch reduziere, bootet er meistens. 😒 Zum Glück hat man ja mehr als einen Backupsserver. 😉 #Redundanz

#Timidity. I hate you so.

If anybody else has upgraded to #Buster and found their #sound not working, please run:

systemctl stop timidity; pulseaudio -k

and see if it works. Timidity seems to steal exclusive control of the sound card at boot, rendering pulseaudio unable to access it, which is a minor pain.
