And for our last day staying in #bushland I had another visitor. These Splendid Fairy Wrens have been visiting but this is the first time one came close enough to take a photo. The males have over-the-top colouring. I quite like the female colours but they are proving harder to capture an image of.

We had another visitor today. He was very curious about the phone but very not scared of humans. #bushland #kangaroo

Today I learned there was an ant (Podomyrma adelaidae) with a common name of the ‘spotted muscleman tree ant’. I spotted it while on holiday.
Something @futurebird might like to know.

We had a visitor! Eating crumbs from lunch. I think it’s a bandicoot? It stayed still for 3 seconds so I got the photo. Also got a lot of photos of blurred smudges 🤣

#introduction
i have moved on from paid #work and now seek less-stressful, #collaborative and #creative things to do. i was an #academic at #QUT, but now i care for grandchildren, rehabilitate native #bushland, help with a #community garden and maintain some interests. these are new (eg. acoustic #bird identification, brewing #cider) and some long-standing (#cycling, #reading #philosophy, #journaling, etc). i guess i'm a twitter departee, but i left it six years ago because of its toxicity.
