And for our last day staying in #bushland I had another visitor. These Splendid Fairy Wrens have been visiting but this is the first time one came close enough to take a photo. The males have over-the-top colouring. I quite like the female colours but they are proving harder to capture an image of.

Today I learned there was an ant (Podomyrma adelaidae) with a common name of the ‘spotted muscleman tree ant’. I spotted it while on holiday.

We borrowed a couple of bikes and slowly cycled north to visit Ben Bennett #Bushland Park in #Caloundra. We walked several marked paths through the Botanic Gardens taking in the huge #tallowwood trees, many #eucalyptus trees and other native species whilst spotting the varied bird life. We arrived at a tranquil pond and enjoyed a quiet moment staring at the reflections on the surface. Just a few kilometres, but a world away from the busy town and beaches. #SunshineCoast #Australia
