Holy fuck, I didn't think it would be possible to make the #BusEireann website less user friendly but they've managed it.

The journey planner's been bolloxed about with so it's impossible to find a timetable or fare without knowing either the route number or magically intuiting the end of the line. 🙄

How do tourists manage in this arse-ache of a country?! 🤯

Funny how the #BusEireann tracker can give an estimate of real arrival time which is wrong but the notice board in Busáras itself only gives the scheduled time. Which remarkably is correct.

Today in Galway it's another "Try and Kill a Cyclist Monday". One car and two vans pulling into the path of traffic with callous disregard for other road users. Most egregious were these two lovely Bus Éireann employees, who decided I didn't exist at the corner by the Harbour Hotel. Unfortunately for them I caught up. Funny how people's behaviour changes compared to if I had been driving my car.

#TFI showed a Gorey-Dublin Bus Eireann at 14:54. Now I'm in town it disappeared from the schedule and the #buseireann app claims 15:20ish. Just as well the 14:29 #wexfordbus was delayed just enough.

Finally found some numbers to back up what I’ve noticed myself anecdotally. Bus usage in Waterford city is up massively. It’s twice pre-pandemic levels, and it even crept up during the pandemic.

#Gorey #Wexford has some way to go to be #AgeFriendly. In #StormAgnes people waiting for a bus have to take shelter under a tree from the driving rain and wind. I understand that Main St traders objected to a #bus #shelter for the only bus stop in Gorey.
#Arklow has four bus stops, three with shelters.
#publictransport will have to be less of an endurance test, particularly for older people.
