@SnokenKeekaGuard My first thought was: Put another man under that man ("4. Any inference of sex perversion"), but as the #BuryYourGays trope was an acceptable compromise, these two would have cancelled each other out.

And replacing the woman with a drag queen … would have been interesting how many straight man who were determining whether and which rules of the Hays Code were broken, would have seen this as "too sexy to be shown" 🤔 ^^

My gay characters usually don't get their Happily Ever After, but that doesn't mean, they are left devastated. This can mean, they get insights about themselves and/or are empowered. So, it's not exactly a burial site in terms of the #BuryYourGays trope.

That doesn't apply to one of the two trans characters, I've written.

As much as I agree with and respect #Starfleet's #PrimeDirective, the ending of #StarTrekENT's "Cogenitor" feels utterly wrong. After Lal's death in "The Measure Of A Man" and Soren's conversion therapy in "The Outcast" (both #StarTrekTNG), I hoped for a queer episode that didn't follow the #BuryYourGays trope. I have been disappointed.

@MusiqueNow just watched the movie for the first time in decades. Loved it. And really loved Gareth and Matthew's relationship. The use of the #BuryYourGays trope was not nice though.

I remember going to the #cinema to see Four Weddings & a Funeral when it came out in '94. I was 14 and totally oblivious to the fact Gareth and Matthew were a couple. The pre end credit photographs didn't give me a hint either, with Matthew "obviously" just having a good time with his "friend". And that saddens me. I don't remember someone telling me what was going on there. Naming it would certainly have helped me in understanding I was not straight earlier in my life. Maybe not on the spot but still. Watching the movie again for the first time in 20 years or so, Matthew and Gareth's relationship is now definitely my favourite one in the movie. #movie #movies #gay #queer #FourWeddingsAndAFuneral Unfortunate and really 90's example of the #BuryYourGays trope, though.
