Winter details from earlier this week. Bunch here from morning on the way to work, and dusk on the way home.
Happily with these photos, after having it on my camera for about a month, I felt like I learned a bit how to shoot with this at-first-awkward 135mm (crop) focal length. The lens itself is also challenging in other ways. But I am glad to have it.

I think this is the largest (and strangest) #burl I've ever seen. And the tree was still alive and happily growing waaay up top!

Went out hiking looking for wood and found this oak burl on the remains of a long rotting log. The inside is mostly hollowed out. There was a scorpion and a lot of beetles all set up for the winter inside. Felt bad kicking them out, but, clearly, not that bad about it. Not sure what I am going to do with it, but I am seeing a face that may need a little help bringing out.
