  1. Kit's Coty
Built nearly 6000 years ago at the beginning of the Neolithic period, the dolmen, constructed of local sarsen stones, once stood at the end of an irregular-shaped 84m long mound bordered by shallow ditches, and was probably used for burials.
Antiquarian William Lambarde believed it to be the burial site of Catigern, the son of the king of a tribe of Britons, supposedly killed in battle by Saxons in 455 CE

  2. Over this last year, Burial Chamber have definitely become one of my favorite metal bands. Still can't believe I missed this last year when it came out. I posted about this record earlier this year. But this is now an ultimate 'anytime metal' kind of record for me. Great for the car, too. Just the most solid, catchy, dynamic and tightest stuff you've ever heard. Something in that Australian water, man.

  3. For this week's #ThursDeath, I'm weirded out I missed a new record by Australia's BURIAL CHAMBER last year. (where have these guys been hiding?)

Last year (2023), Burial Chamber unleashed their masterful LP 'Symbolic Flesh Entombed'. It's TOUGH to write a great death metal LP that's interesting & doesn't get boring. They have DONE THAT here.

If I HAD caught this last year, it would've easily made my top 20 albums. Burial Chamber is a band to watch.

  4. Ooh, #TombTuesday comes round quicker every week.... so today's #DailyPhoto is another from last week's visit to #StLythans #BurialChamber. Allegedly, on Midsummer's Eve, the capstone spins round three times and the stones go down to the river to wash #Folklore

  5. Paid a visit to #StLythans #Neolithic #BurialChamber today for #TombTuesday, 6000 years old, named Gwâl y Filiast in #Welsh, meaning "Kennel of the greyhound bitch". The light wasn't great so decided to go for a black and white snap

  6. Here's a '3D Model' we made, using Sony Cameras on a 10m pole, since Drones are banned, of Arthur's Stone, a neolithic burial chamber in Herefordshire.
We used Sony Cameras on poles and on the ground, as drones are banned from flying over English Heritage sites 😞

  7. Pentre Ifan Neolithic burial chamber, believed to be over 5,000 years old. One of my favourite, close-to-home, peaceful places.
