¿Sabías que el icónico juego BurgerTime originalmente se llamaba de otra forma muy obvia y directa?

Cuando Data East desarrolló este clásico arcade en 1982, lo lanzó en Japón bajo el simple y evidente título de Hamburger. Sin embargo, al exportar el videojuego al mercado de Estados Unidos ese mismo año, la compañía decidió cambiar su nombre de manera definitiva a BurgerTime para hacerlo sonar más llamativo comercialmente. De esta forma, el nombre original quedó guardado como un detalle histórico de la industria mientras el chef Peter Pepper se convertía en leyenda esquivando perritos calientes y huevos fritos en las pantallas de todo el mundo.

In an #AtariVCS / #Atari2600 mood this evening and playing the #homebrew #ChaoticGrill. This is a far better version of #BurgerTime than the official 2600 version we got originally.

All that said, BurgerTime is probably one of the most underrated games from the golden age or arcades. It’s aged incredibly well. It deserves to be more often in the conversation. #retrogaming

As it's almost impossible to get some plant-based burger patties in NZ nowadays... Morningstar, Bird's Eye, even Impossible and Beyond seem to have left the market... It's time to create 'em yourself. DIY patties.

From Laundry to Linux: Two Productive Days in Lusaka

Yesterday (April 30) and today (May 1), I spent some time doing laundry while also setting up my Raspberry Pi with Umbrel OS. I installed the software I need and started backing up my data today, deciding to go with Seafile for it.

I worked on all of this at the hostel, then took a walk to the university and continued in the library. Later, I went to a burger place and enjoyed a Friday deal.

This isn’t the only game, but some early #NES games had better versions on the #Colecovision. #Burgertime is a prime example of this. In my opinion it just looks and plays better on the Colecovision. The green bits in the beef patty and cheese just looks terrible.

I get that this is probably a hot take and that Burgertime was an early release for the famicom before there were mappers, but as it is it is ugly. I would love to see somebody remake it using a mapper to get more colors #retrogaming
