  6. No invitations to “special members events” ever. Naturally, social media delivers member party photos to me after the fact.

  12. @shellz_campbell I think his best work was with On the Media. They have a website hosted through WNYC, though using it to try to view the back-catalogue is exceedingly painful. I don't think the site even has a search function...

onthemedia.org redirects to the WNYC website.

Bob was with the programme through May, 2021:

The BullyPulpit sessions have been a bit uneven. I've linked several on Mastodon, under the hashtag #BullyPulpit

One of his better segments was his interview of ExxonMobil's Richard Keil:

At BullyPulpit, the 60 Year Coup, a two-parter, was quite good:

    Part 2: booksmartstudios.org/p/the-60-

  13. And for the textuallly-inclined:

[D]ue to certain circumstances, situations, events, misfortunes and all kinds of converging mishegas (some highly juicy details forthcoming), but the bottom line is: Bully Pulpit, the Podcast, is dead.

  14. The 60-Year Coup, Part 2

Part 2 of Bob’s conversation with author Anne Nelson about the Council for National Policy, which has spent decades exploiting bugs in the system to gain minority control of our politics — and our future.

  15. It Wasn't Me, It Was My Dog

Bob talks with Princeton scholar Orestis Papakyriakopoulos about the social media titan’s latest assault on transparency, and the all-too-familiar blame-shifting that followed it. That has become standard operating procedure from a company Bob describes as “amoral, except when it’s immoral.”

  17. Bully Pulpit: Bridging the Divide

    booksmartstudios.org/p/episode

During moments of rhetorical generosity, politicians will give lip-service to bipartisanship or working across the aisle. Another favored metaphor of both Democrats and Republicans is “bridging the divide,” which, once upon a time, would actually happen on major legislation. With the Biden administration now calling for cooperation on infrastructure and other bills, Bob reflects on the fact that not all bridges are well built. Sometimes they collapse.

  18. Introducing Bully Pulpit with Bob Garfield

First ep of the new podcast from veteran media analyst Bob Garfield drops tomorrow.

Bully Pulpit is a wry and pointed take on politics, media and society from longtime public radio personality Bob Garfield. His astute cultural criticism, infused with wit and humor, has earned him many prestigious journalism awards, as well as praise such as “very brave” and “national treasure.”

"We don't consider argumentative to be an insult, we consider it to be an art form."
