We currently use SocketLabs as an email gateway. We are considering migrating away from them for *reasons*. We were considering SendGrid which I have been evaluating.
So far so good but I then checked Trustpilot for SendGrid's reputation and all I can say is, "oh dear".
They have an appalling reputation for support which seems to have degraded substantially since they were merged with Twilio.
What are others using for email gateways? How do they compare with SendGrid? Can you use inline templates via the API for sending bulk emails etc? What's the support like?
Any recommendations are welcome.

Google is making significant changes to how it handles email from bulk senders in an effort to reduce spam and unwanted emails. Starting in February 2024, bulk senders, defined as those who send more than 5,000 messages to Gmail addresses in one day, will need to authenticate their emails, provide an easy way to unsubscribe, and maintain a clear spam rate threshold. These changes aim to improve email security and reduce spam for Gmail users. Google is working with industry partners, including Yahoo, to institute these policies as a new industry standard.
