  1. Victoria: How much are you willing to spend to cancel the Suburban Rail Loop?
    9news.com.au/national/how-much

This is some shockingly bullshit-hypothetical neocon wish-fulfillment propaganda by the Murdoch media. And it's a colossal self-own for the Victorian LNP.

Why? Because Victorian people love our public transport projects such as Level-Crossing Removal. We want to continue modernising and expanding our train network.

  2. Dutton says Coalition would scrap funding for 'hoax' Suburban Rail Loop in election promise
    abc.net.au/news/2025-04-01/pet

Just like that, Peter Dutton has lost the election in Victoria.

Believe him when he says he wants to axe the Suburban Rail Loop. But, everyone knows his "nice" election promises are lies β€” he has no intention of building the Melbourne Airport Rail Link.

  3. Melbourne Airport agrees to clear the hurdle to long-awaited rail link
    abc.net.au/news/2024-07-08/vic

Melbourne Airport management has finally backed-down from their insistence that the railway station and approaching rail line be a slow and expensive underground build, and have agreed to have it built above-ground.
The government's response should be "Well, duh, we're *giving* you a world-class transport link that will help improve your business and increase your customer happiness."
The delay has made no sense at all, and I get the impression some people running Melbourne Airport tried to politicise the issue in the lead-up to the last state election.
Victorians want the government and airport to stop squabbling get on with the job.
